Minimum Software Requirements
The PCver Stub and GUI software were designed to operate under Windows XP with DirectX version 8 or greater. You must have DirectX 8.0 or higher installed before installing PCver.
Use video settings of 1280 x 1024 with 32 bit color and a DPI setting of 96 and the Windows-XP Display "Theme" option set to "Classic".
While no particular service pack is known to be required for PCver, all product testing was carried under Windows XP Professional (Version 5.1.2600, Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2).
Minimum Hardware Requirements
The PCver software have been developed to run on a standard Intel/Windows PC platform with an available USB port and an ethernet network connection.
The minimum hardware requirements are:
Actual memory utilization is typically around 5 MB for the PCver Stub and 5 to 6 MB for the control GUI.
Performance
Performance testing of PCver has indicated that the main limiting factor in performance capability is the total PDUs per second on the DIS LAN.
The rule of thumb that stress testing has indicated is the ability to cope with around 4,000 PDUs per second for each GHz of processing power available. That is to say for example, a 2.0 GHz desktop PC should be able to cope with a total volume of DIS traffic of 8,000 PDUs per second.
